PEKAN 14 Nov. – The art of telepuk is a fabric decoration that uses materials made of gold worn by the royal family of the Malay royal palace in the archipelago more than 300 years ago.
However, in the last 70 years, the art has disappeared and is increasingly forgotten by today’s generation who should continue the art of pride of the courtiers.
Director of the State Museum Corporation, Datuk Ahmad Farid Abd. Jalal said, aware of the fact, his party took the initiative to implement a telepuk workshop.
He said the workshop was to re -dignify the art of telepuk by giving the younger generation the opportunity to know and love the country’s art heritage.
“The workshop which lasted for two days starting yesterday gave the teaching and learning approach of this course in the production of telepuk cloth conducted by Adiguru Norhaiza Noordin,”
